Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Your habit data belongs to you. Another stores it on your device and syncs it through your private iCloud database when available. The app does not send your habit history to me or include advertising or analytics.

This policy covers the Another iOS app, this website, and support enquiries.

Who is responsible

Another is provided by Will MacDonald, who is responsible for personal information handled for this website and support. Contact me at will@willmacdonald.co.

The operator is based in Austria. Operator details and legal notice.

Your habits and iCloud

The app stores habit names and descriptions, options and colours, completed and skipped days, dates, ordering, and archive status. These records are used to show your habits, history, streaks and progress. Preferences, such as haptic feedback, stay on your device.

Another works offline and does not require an Another account. If iCloud is available, Apple’s CloudKit synchronises your records in your private iCloud database. I do not have access to that database or your Apple Account credentials. Apple handles its services under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

You control iCloud access through your device settings. Turning sync off does not by itself erase data already stored in iCloud.

Purchases

Apple processes payments for the lifetime unlock. The app checks purchase and entitlement information through Apple’s StoreKit to enable the unlock and restore previous purchases. I do not receive your payment card details or billing address. Apple retains purchase records under its own policies and legal obligations.

When you contact support

If you email me, I receive your email address, any name you provide, your message, and any attachments or diagnostic details you choose to send. I use this information to respond, investigate the issue and handle related follow-up. It is not used for marketing.

Email passes through your email service and mine (Neo Mail). See my email provider’s privacy information. Please avoid sending sensitive habit information, passwords, payment details or an entire backup unless it is needed to resolve your request.

Website visits

This is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information and requested URL, to deliver the pages and protect the service. This website does not add analytics, advertising trackers, contact forms or cookies.

Cloudflare’s handling and retention of service data are explained in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. Following an external link, including an App Store link, takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Where the GDPR applies, processing necessary to provide the app and requested support relies on performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). Handling general enquiries and delivering a secure, reliable website relies on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Records needed to meet a legal obligation are processed under Article 6(1)(c).

You can use the app without emailing me. If you request support, I need enough contact and issue information to reply. Another does not use personal information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Keeping, exporting and deleting data

Your habit data stays on your device and, when syncing, in your private iCloud database until you remove it. Deleting a habit in Another removes its associated history and options; the deletion syncs when iCloud is available. Archiving a habit keeps its data.

Use Settings → Export backup to save a separate copy. Exported backups are files you control and are not sent to me. Keep them safe and delete them separately when no longer needed. Restoring a backup replaces the current data and can sync that replacement to your other devices.

Deleting the app does not necessarily delete iCloud data or existing backups. Manage those separately using Apple’s iCloud storage controls and your file storage. I cannot remotely retrieve or erase your private habit database; contact support if you need help with the controls.

I keep support correspondence only while it is needed to resolve your request and related follow-up, or to meet a legal obligation or handle a dispute. I review and remove it when it is no longer needed. You can request deletion by email. Hosting and email providers manage their service logs and backup retention under their policies.

Service providers and international transfers

I do not sell your personal information. Apple supplies iCloud and purchase services; Cloudflare supplies website hosting; email services deliver support correspondence. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

These providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum describes its contractual safeguards, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Neo Mail’s Data Processing Addendum describes its processing and transfer safeguards. Apple and email providers explain their processing locations in their privacy information. Contact me for information about safeguards relevant to data I handle.

Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information I hold about you. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Email will@willmacdonald.co to make a request. I may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. GDPR requests are normally answered within one month; if a permitted extension is needed, I will explain why.

You may complain to the data protection authority where you live, work, or believe a breach occurred. In Austria, contact the Austrian Data Protection Authority, or find your EU data protection authority. You can manage private habit data directly in the app; requests to me concern information I can access, such as support correspondence.

Changes and contact

I will update this policy if Another’s data handling changes and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated where required. For privacy questions, including information sent by or about a child, contact will@willmacdonald.co.
